Before sending USDT, check what a quoted HKD amount actually includes. Two quotes are comparable only when they describe the same direction, priced quantity and treatment of fees. This guide uses an invented example to turn a unit price into a net cash amount you can check.
Funshell buys back customers' own USDT and pays HKD cash; it does not sell USDT to customers. Read the USDT buyback service page and confirm the accepted network, receiving address, required information and cash arrangements with the team first.
Confirm who sells the tokens and who pays the cash
“Buy” and “sell” may be labelled from different parties' perspectives. Ask for a plain description of your transaction instead of choosing the higher number on a screen.
| Question | USDT buyback in this guide |
|---|---|
| Who provides the USDT? | You sell USDT that you own |
| Who receives the USDT? | Funshell buys it back |
| Who receives HKD cash? | You do |
| What is the price unit? | HKD / USDT: Hong Kong dollars per USDT |
For BTC or ETH cash trading, use the cash crypto service page and confirm the asset and direction separately. A USDT buyback price does not apply to another asset. Start with the BTC / ETH cash trading guide if you need an introduction to that process.
Six things a usable quote should explain
- Priced quantity: the requested withdrawal amount or the verified amount actually received?
- Unit price: how many HKD per USDT, and for what quantity?
- Included costs: does the price already reflect the spread or service costs? Which items will not be deducted again?
- Additional charges: who charges them, in which currency, and how are they deducted?
- Time and conditions: is this indicative or confirmed for your transaction? When does it need to be checked again?
- Settlement arrangements: how will the network, receiving address, required information, cash amount and rounding be confirmed?
This checklist does not mean that Funshell charges any particular item. Ask the team to state the terms for your transaction.
Worked example: from a unit price to net HKD
Every number below is an editorial arithmetic example. It is not a live rate, Funshell fee schedule, genuine quote or customer bill. Its illustrative record time is 21 October 2026 at 14:00 Hong Kong time (UTC+8), which creates no valid quote or price hold.
Assume this invented quote prices the verified quantity received, includes the spread in its unit price, and separately lists a charge in HKD.
| Illustrative field | Invented value | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Direction | Customer sells USDT for HKD cash | It matches your intention |
| Priced quantity Q | 1,000 USDT | Assume receipt of 1,000 has been verified |
| Unit price P | 7.8000 HKD / USDT | An invented price, not an exchange-rate promise |
| Gross HKD: Q × P | HKD 7,800.00 | 1,000 × 7.8000 |
| Included item | Spread reflected in the price | Do not deduct that spread again |
| Additional HKD charge F | HKD 20.00 | An invented, separately disclosed charge |
| Net HKD N | HKD 7,780.00 | 7,800.00 − 20.00 |
| Sender's withdrawal or network costs | Check separately with the sending service | Do not assume they are covered by the HKD charge |
Under these assumptions, net HKD N = priced quantity Q × unit price P − HKD charges F not already accounted for. Include a cost in F only if it is denominated in HKD and has not already been reflected in the quantity or price. Confirm rounding and cash denominations separately.
Now suppose the sending platform deducts an invented 1 USDT from a requested 1,000 USDT withdrawal. The recipient receives 999 USDT. If both parties still agree to price the quantity received, the same invented price and HKD charge give 999 × 7.8000 − 20 = HKD 7,772.20. The 1 USDT is reflected in Q; it should not be deducted again. If the sending fee comes from another balance, do not automatically reduce Q to 999.
Keep three types of cost separate
| Cost | Who to ask | How to compare it |
|---|---|---|
| Spread or service costs in the quote | The quoting business | Establish whether included or additional; count each item once |
| Platform withdrawal fee | The sending platform | Check the fee currency, funding source and expected delivered quantity |
| Network fee from a self-custody wallet | Your wallet and the network's official documentation | Check the payment asset and estimate; do not label it a store fee |
For example, Ethereum's official gas documentation explains that Ethereum transaction fees are paid in ETH. A USDT transfer cost therefore does not always reduce the USDT delivered. Your wallet or platform determines the applicable deduction method. This example does not establish that Funshell accepts that network; ask the team separately.
Tether's official fee page describes its own services. It is not a substitute for another OTC business's quote and should not be presented as Funshell's store fee schedule.
Common mistakes when comparing quotes
- Comparing unit prices without net proceeds: ask each business to state the same priced quantity and all remaining charges, then compare net HKD.
- Reading “no additional fee” as “no spread”: ask whether costs are already reflected in the unit price.
- Treating a requested withdrawal amount as the received quantity: check the actual deduction method in that withdrawal's details.
- Treating an indicative screen as a locked price: confirm validity conditions and check again after changes to quantity, network or settlement arrangements.
- Sending before checking the network and address: correct arithmetic does not replace transfer checks.

I want to sell USDT that I own for HKD cash.
Expected USDT quantity:
Sending platform or wallet:
Available withdrawal networks (nothing sent yet):
Preferred branch and time:
Please confirm the accepted network, how to verify the receiving address,
priced quantity, HKD/USDT price, included costs, additional charges and
their currencies, net HKD, quote validity conditions, required information,
cash arrangements and rounding.
Before sending, compare the quantity, network and address with the final agreed details. Resolve any unclear charges first. If you have already sent the tokens but receipt has not been confirmed, use the USDT transfer status guide and keep the original transaction details for support.
